Welcome. I'm so glad you are here and exploring therapy.

If you are reading this, you have taken the brave first step towards seeking counseling support for yourself or your loved one.  That took strength, and shows me that you can, and will, conquer whatever has brought you here today.

Being a human is hard.  We are put on this planet with the ability to think and feel, hurt and heal, laugh and cry, break and be broken, all with zero instruction manual. No wonder you are here. And I'm so glad you are.

Now, if you think being human is hard, try being a teenage human. I specialize in supporting pre-teens, teenagers, and young adults and their families through what can be a beautiful and challenging period of intense growth and change.

Adolescence is a wild time. You are expected to forge your own identity, yet how the heck are you supposed to figure out who you want to be? And why do people judge you so much for trying on new identities, isn't that what you are supposed to do at this age? (Answer: yes!)

You are expected to break away from your families and forge your independence, yet you may not be ready, or you may have complicated attachments to your family that get in your way.

You are expected to prioritize your social relationships and build a community outside of your home, yet it can be surprisingly difficult to find "your people," and peer relationships are frequently fraught with drama, conflict, and poor communication.

You are expected to engage in and excel at school, planning your future from day 1 of high school. Yet school might be harder for you than others, you may not have any clue where you want your education to take you in life, or maybe school's just not your jam at all.

Again, no wonder you are here.  All of the above challenges can unfortunately lead to feelings of excessive stress, overwhelm, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, and more.

But don't worry, I got you.

It's rare to go through this phase of life without needing a little extra help, and therapy is a great way to add a layer of support. There is no shame in expanding your village and leaning on your community to help you and your family find your way.

Entering into therapy or counseling can bring up a lot of feelings. It can feel scary, intimidating, uncomfortable, and just plain awkward.  You may not feel comfortable telling a stranger what you need. Maybe you don't even know what you need; you just know you need something.  Maybe you know you NEED therapy, but you don't necessarily WANT therapy.

I get it. I've been there. (Yes, even therapists have therapists!)

Regardless of what brought you here, even if you're not sure what it is, I'm here for you. I got you.

Please explore my website to learn more about me and how I can help. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have, or to talk further about my services.

You took one step. You can take one more. And I'm here to walk beside you when you do.
