About the Therapist
I've known I wanted to be a "helper" my whole life. I started out wanting to be a doctor, then a teacher, and finally landed on becoming a social worker, which I've been privileged to be able to do for over a decade.

As a therapist (and a human), I like to think of myself as pretty laid-back and relatable. I'm a quiet and calm person by nature, and am comfortable sitting in silence as long as we need to. I try my best to be funny, and try to infuse humor and levity into therapy sessions whenever appropriate. I can usually, at the very least, get a pity laugh out of most people. I lead with empathy, validation, and acceptance at the heart of my work, and you should know there is nothing you can do or say that would shock me or ruffle my feathers (Trust me when I say I've seen, and heard, it all).
I will strike a balance of validating your experience while also providing gentle challenges or corrections when I see you engaging in maladaptive thought or behavioral patterns. While I will wholeheartedly accept you, I will not enable you. I will presume that you came to therapy to make changes in the way you move through life, and will gently push you towards noticing what needs to change, and taking the steps to make those changes.

I don't believe in rigidly following any one treatment modality. I have an abundance of clinical training in my back pocket, and will use whatever approach feels right for you in that moment. I believe in meeting you where you are at, and intuitively following your lead with where you want to go.
About the Human
I've lived in Colorado almost my entire life, moving here with my family when I was five. I briefly left Colorado to attend college and graduate school in Chicago, and loved living the city life for a few years (and consuming an alarming amount of Chicago style pizza - the best kind of pizza, don't even at me about it). After graduating, I returned to my roots and have been back in Colorado ever since. My husband is a Chicago native, and I dragged him kicking and screaming back to Colorado with me (just kidding, he came willingly. Who wouldn't?) We have two young kiddos and a beloved pup. We are kept pretty busy with day to day life stuff, kids' activities, yada yada, but when we do have the chance we always like to get outside enjoy the bounty of Colorado by hiking, camping, and just generally enjoying the great outdoors.

When you have small kids, "free time" and "hobbies" are pretty foreign concepts, but in the rare instances I do have some time to myself, I enjoy being active (running, hiking, yoga), playing music (guitar, ukulele, and piano), going to concerts (Red Rocks is my happy place), enjoying local restaurants and breweries with friends, and binge watching silly comedies and bad reality shows. Like a good millennial, I have seen the entirety of the Friends series at least a dozen times through. (Could I BE any more obsessed?)
