PARENT COACHING
As your teenager grows and develops, so must your parenting techniques. When your child hits their teen years you may feel like your world has been turned upside down and you no longer know how to successfully parent your child. Things that worked when your teen was a child may no longer work, and you may feel at a loss for how to support them emotionally or behaviorally, and maintain a peaceful and well-run household.

Through my parent coaching services, I aim to help equip you with new skills for parenting your teen and refill your toolbox with strategies that will be most effective for parenting through the adolescent years. I will help you understand your teen's neurological and developmental needs and see their behaviors and any challenges you may be seeing through a strengths-based and holistic lens. I draw on the philosophies of parenting experts such as Dr. Becky Kennedy and Dr. Dan Siegel, who both aim to view teenagers as inherently good humans who are at the mercy of a rapidly developing brain as they navigate a difficult time of life full of new transitions.
EDUCATIONAL CONSULTATION
I am passionate about supporting teenagers and their families in navigating what can frequently be a complicated, confusing, and frustrating school system. In addition to supporting teens through individual therapy, I seek to support my clients by offering consultation services for families having a hard time navigating the educational system. In my 12 years of working in middle and high schools, I have repeatedly seen families struggle to understand what their student needs, what the school can or should provide them, what they should be advocating or asking for, and simply what it all means. That is where I come in.
I have a particular affinity for supporting families through the special education process. The process of getting your child evaluated and understanding the results and subsequent decisions of the special education team can be very complicated and confusing, and it can be difficult to understand all of the educational and legal jargon that many families have never heard before. It can also be difficult to know when your child is not getting what they need, what additional support is available, and when to advocate for something different.
With my consultation services, I am happy to review your child's situation and help explain anything that you are having a hard time understanding. I can help you understand what is available to you and your child within the school system, what to ask for, and who to ask, and empower you to advocate for what your child needs. I am happy to review your child's special education evaluation and/or IEP and help answer any questions or explain anything that is difficult to comprehend. I am also happy to partner with school teams to assist you in advocating for your child and coming to a common agreement so everyone feels confident that your child is getting exactly what they need.
